Journaling:
I thought I had planned out everything. I had dealt with enough unplanned things that I was determined to get my pregnancy right. I just never thought about the due date. Not only did I not really do the math before we started, but I also didn’t know to count nearly 10 months instead of the believed 9 months. My due date ended up being December 10th. And after recently watching my friend reach two weeks past her due date before they finally induced, I feared I would have a Christmas baby. Not bad for me - but kinda crappy for him. I mean, who wants a birthday shared with Christmas? It means less presents! well, I didn’t have a Christmas baby. Instead, I gave birth the day before Thanksgiving, spending the holiday in the hospital. I never thought much of it until the following year, when trying to organize a birthday as well as make all the relatives happy by making all the holiday dinners. Plus, I have noticed that I split presents still, often deciding on not buying something so that I can give it for Christmas. But presents aside, I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out. What better way that to show my thanks then to be grateful that I was blessed with such an amazing son. Besides, there’s always the day after Thanksgiving sales - now those are great for birthday present shopping!!
